Long drive
today. Once again fell victim of my GPS automatically taking into account the
change in time zone, but not letting me know. So I stopped an hour before my
planned destination – I just needed to walk.
I wound up
west of Edmonton at Spruce Grove in an RV park. Kind of boring, but I’m plugged
in so showers are on the list.
Once again I didn't find the drive boring at all - the sky kept me entertained as the land began to develop rolling hills. The pictures simply don't do it justice - this looks flat, but in fact, I'm looking from a height into lower rolling land - some of which is covered by mustard in bloom.
And I didn't get a picture of the Saskatchewan River which is magnificent. Very wide, mostly brown but very swift.
I had just gotten the stabilizers down and the trailer plugged in when the skies opened. It's only 20 here, and we've had rain for an hour. I happily read, listened to podcasts and worked on my socks.
It's just stopping so I'm going out for a long walk. I'm excited about heading north tomorrow. I want to be around cities (and people in general) less and less. I wasn't even tempted to go in to Edmonton. Grande Prairie is my next destination where I'm stopping in the driveway of a friend.
Edmonton was never one of my favorites..........heading for the 'north route' to Prince George, to see brother ???
