Thursday June 20th

Drove through to Kenora today. Along the way I stopped at a coffee roastery and met two delightful women who wanted a tour of my trailer - and they made fab coffee! I bought a half pound to go along with a delicious second cup to go.

Kenora is interesting - the actual 'downtown' is busy, older, with cramped streets. I received a hint from the women at the coffee roastery and am staying at a campsite in the town - very decent  and on a lake. I BACKED IN. Just so you know. And no one laughed.

Unhitched (thankfully) and went downtown to see if I could book a cruise, but they only run on the weekends. Don't think I'll stay for it - I'm kind of keen to get into Manitoba.

I have a booking at Buffalo Pound PP in Saskatchewan next Friday (for the July 1st weekend) so I have 7 days to wander about Manitoba and Saskatchewan before I get there. Will spend a couple of days in Winnipeg - I want to visit the Human Rights Museum. Beyond that, I'll just move around until a find a place that I like.

Today I'm doing laundry and general cleanup.

  1. Check out the Living prairie Museum, a piece of original tall grass prairie which is virtually wiped out by human activities.

    1. I saw this comment an afternoon too late! I would have gone. Perhaps on the way back.

  2. Oh, I forgot to tell you about the saskatoon municipal campground. Lovely spot in the city. If you are headed that way.
